MANICS’ “Make Out Room” pays homage to San Francisco’s Mission District dive club of the same name. Reminiscent of Holy Ghost!, The Rapture and LCD Soundsystem, the track is a disco dance punk cut that captures the energy and dysfunction of the scenes inside small clubs around the world. “Make Out Room” is filled with stiff drinks, destructive lovers, bad drugs and too many characters acting out.
Smooth synths and a hopelessly funky bass line will drive you through Bankwell’s newest single “Time Machine”. Bankwell’s vocals ooze through the many tape affects in this track bringing you into instant nostalgia of summer nights in the 80’s. “Time Machine” has some Chromeo inspired rhythms with a Neon Indian vocal affect.
